Singer Vakarchuk says his party will not unite with political brands

Singer and musician Svyatoslav Vakarchuk has said that his party Holos will not unite with other political parties or blocs.

A respective video address was posted on his Twitter account on Tuesday.

"The Holos party is not uniting with political brands. We are ready to unite efforts with people who share our principles, ideological programs, our program. With people, not brands!" he said.

According to Vakarchuk, the Holos party will soon hold its congress, and its agenda will not include an item on a merger with other political forces.

He also added: "We recognize the value of many of the reforms that have been made before us. We are going to politics to build rather than destroy. But we will destroy old schemes, old rules, and old policy. And we will build a new policy."

On May 16, Ukrainian musician and leader of the Okean Elzy rock band Svyatoslav Vakarchuk announced the creation of the Holos party and its participation in early parliamentary elections slated for July 21.
