Ukraine's elections show power of civil society – Czech foreign minister

Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek has congratulated Volodymyr Zelensky on winning Ukraine's presidential election.

“Congratulations to President-elect Zelensky. I believe that reform efforts will be continued,” the minister posted on Twitter.

Ukraine has already made great progress in its modernization, approaching Europe, having received the Association Agreement and the visa free regime, but much remains to be done, the foreign minister noted.

Speaking about the Ukrainian elections, Tomas Petricek underlined that they had proved the power of civil society in Ukraine.

As reported, the second round of Ukraine’s presidential elections was held on Sunday, April 21. According to the National Exit Poll, Volodymyr Zelensky won 73% of the vote, and Petro Poroshenko got 25.5%.

The voter turnout was 62.07%.
