Former NATO Secretary General comments on Ukraine's presidential election

Former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen expressed support for Ukraine after the victory of Volodymyr Zelensky in Ukraine's presidential election.

He wrote this on his Twitter account.

"I congratulate President-elect Volodymyr Zelensky. He faces tough tests ahead, but Ukrainians are clear: they want a European future. Ukraine’s friends - myself included - will do what we can to help this dream become reality," he wrote.

Rasmussen expressed commiserations to Petro Poroshenko, who "led Ukraine from very dark days into a new dawn."

"It has been an honour to serve him, and help Ukraine navigate the geopolitical storms of recent years," he emphasized.

As known, Rasmussen was an adviser to President of Ukraine Poroshenko.

As reported, the second round of Ukraine’s presidential elections was held on Sunday, April 21. According to the National Exit Poll, Volodymyr Zelensky won 73% of the vote, and Petro Poroshenko got 25.5%.
