The main task of the Ukrainian government during election campaigns is to guarantee free and democratic electoral process and ensure the country's sustainable economic development.

Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman stated this at a meeting with representatives of the International Republican Institute, the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO) and the National Democratic Institute, who arrived in Ukraine to monitor the presidential elections, the Government portal reported.

"It is important that the presidential and parliamentary elections take place in a transparent, open and democratic way. This is fundamentally important. The success will be achieved when the people’s will is realized due to fair elections. It will strengthen our democracy. The first stage of preparations for the process has been completed. The government in its powers has clear responsibilities, in particular, material and technical support. The position of the government is clear - open and democratic elections,” Groysman said.

The prime minister stressed that the Ukrainian government is open to the democratic world and is firm in its position that the launched reforms are irreversible.

As reported, the Central Election Commission registered 2,344 international observers from foreign states and international organizations for the 31 March presidential elections in Ukraine.
