CEC increases budget for holding of presidential elections

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has increased the budget for the holding of the presidential elections by more than UAH 6.7 million.

The Commission has stated this in a press available to Ukrinform.

"The Commission has amended the budget estimates of the Central Election Commission for the preparations and holding of the next elections of the President of Ukraine scheduled for March 31, 2019, approved by the CEC resolution as of January 3, 2019, No.6 (with amendments submitted by the CEC resolution as of February 11, 2019, No.284). After the amendments, the amount of the Commission’s expenses grew by UAH 6.74 million to UAH 282.053 million,” the document says.

As reported, on January 3, the CEC approved budget estimates under budget programs for the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections in the amount of over UAH 2.3 billion and UAH 1.9 billion, respectively.

The presidential election campaign started on December 31, 2018. On February 8, the CEC completed the process of registration for the post of head of state in Ukraine's presidential election. A total of 44 presidential candidates were registered.
