CEC to spend UAH 166 mln on printing ballot papers

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has concluded an agreement with the state-owned enterprise Polygraph Combine Ukraina for the production of ballot papers worth UAH 166.36 million, according to the website of ProZorro system.

The CEC selected Polygraph Combine Ukraina through a negotiation procedure, referring to the Law “On the Election of the President of Ukraine,” which stipulates that ballot papers are strict accounting documents containing degrees of protection. And Polygraph Combine Ukraina is the only enterprise in Ukraine that has required material-technical base and facilities.

The CEC will order the printing and packaging of 60,359,600 ballots, which must be manufactured within 16 calendar days.

As reported, the presidential election campaign started on December 31, 2018. On February 8, the CEC completed the process of registration for the post of head of state in Ukraine's presidential election scheduled for March 31.
