IMF acknowledges sensitivity of VAT tax proposal for sole proprietors – Svyrydenko
The International Monetary Fund has shown understanding regarding the sensitivity of introducing VAT taxation for sole proprietors, according to Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko.
In a post on Telegram, Svyrydenko said the issue was discussed during the Spring Meetings in Washington, Ukrinform reports.
"The IMF has shown understanding regarding the sensitivity of introducing VAT taxation for sole proprietors – both for society and for parliament. During the Spring Meetings, we found understanding among partners that this is indeed a sensitive topic and not a constructive idea, as President Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly told IMF representatives," she said.
Svyrydenko noted that the Ukrainian delegation held numerous consultations with the IMF and European partners during the meetings in Washington.
"We will continue working together on necessary decisions and exploring alternative measures to ensure budget revenue for 2027," she added.
