It takes year to manufacture and deliver new transformer, says DTEK
It will take a year to manufacture and deliver a new transformer to Ukraine from partner countries.
This was announced by DTEK Odesa Power Grid CEO Dmytro Hryhoriev in a comment to Ukrinform.
According to him, in peacetime, it took 6-8 months to manufacture a transformer at a Ukrainian factory. Before the war, many enterprises produced such equipment. But now, some of these factories have been destroyed, while others are located in occupied territory.
“Our country cannot produce the required quantity on its own, so we are reaching out to partner countries for help. But it takes almost a year from the moment of ordering to receiving assistance. Transformers are manufactured from scratch to meet the customer’s specific requirements – a specific power, voltage, and class. No one stocks them ready-made, even in Europe,” said the CEO.
As reported by Ukrinform, due to enemy attacks and bad weather, 99,000 users in the Kyivskyi district of Odesa and 36,600 in the settlements of the Odesa, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, Bolhrad, and Izmail districts of the region remain without electricity.
