Moldova to deliver energy equipment and humanitarian aid to Ukraine
The Republic of Moldova will provide humanitarian assistance to Ukraine in the context of ongoing attacks on critical infrastructure, adverse weather conditions, and as a sign of solidarity and gratitude for Ukraine’s defense of the entire European continent against the aggression of the Russian Federation for nearly four years.
This was reported by the Moldovan government in a statement published by the state news agency Moldpres, according to Ukrinform.
It is noted that the humanitarian aid shipments will include various energy-sector materials, namely generators, transformers, conductors, and cables.
In addition, medical equipment, specialized vehicles, food products, and essential items will be delivered.
The goods designated for delivery to Ukraine will be taken from state and mobilization reserves managed by administrative bodies subordinate to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as from assets owned by the joint-stock company Northern Electricity Distribution Networks.
Transportation of the humanitarian aid will be ensured by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“By approving this assistance, the government expresses its support for the Ukrainian people. In the face of challenges caused by the aggression of the Russian Federation, solidarity is an investment in our own security, and unity remains the strongest form of defense,” the government statement emphasizes.
As reported by Ukrinform, the National Congress of Ukrainians of Moldova (NCUM) has already raised 256,000 lei (over UAH 628,000) as part of the charity campaign Warmth for Ukraine, aimed at supporting families suffering from critically low temperatures and the consequences of Russian attacks.
