Kyiv completely switches to emergency power cuts

Emergency power cuts have spread throughout the capital.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the DTEK Group on its Telegram channel.

“Kyiv: On the orders of Ukrenergo, emergency power cuts have been implemented throughout the city. We remind you that during emergency power cuts, the schedules do not apply,” the message says.

Energy companies in the capital are working to complete restoration work, with electricity primarily provided to water and heat supply facilities under network restrictions, according to Anatolii Zamulko, acting Head of the State Energy Supervision Inspectorate of Ukraine, on television.

He explained that emergency power cuts are used to prevent the failure of power equipment that has withstood shelling.

"As for their duration, this is indeed a sore point. In some situations, they are quite long. But energy companies are trying to strike a balance between the ability to supply electricity to provide hot water and heat," Zamulko said.
