Ukrenergo repays over UAH 2B in debt to Guaranteed Buyer
Since the beginning of the year, NPC Ukrenergo has repaid more than UAH 2 billion in debt to the State Enterprise Guaranteed Buyer for services related to increasing the share of renewable energy.
Vitalii Zaichenko, Chairman of Ukrenergo Management Board, said in a comment to Ukrinform.
“Ukrenergo’s debt to the Guaranteed Buyer has decreased. Since the start of the year, we’ve repaid over UAH 2 billion,” he said.
However, he noted that resolving the broader debt issue on the balancing electricity market remains a long-term challenge due to the large volume of accumulated liabilities.
According to Ukrenergo’s website, as of October 10, the company’s total debt on the balancing market stood at UAH 17.6 billion, while market participants owed Ukrenergo UAH 39.7 billion.
As previously reported, between January 1 and September 30, 2025, the Guaranteed Buyer paid UAH 47.25 billion to renewable energy producers.
