US extends sanctions against Russia

The U.S. Treasury Department has announced additional sanctions against Russia, including against the scientific institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

That's according to a report by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury Department, Ukrinform reports.

Thus, the list of US sanctions includes the Prokhorov Institute of General Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Kazan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Institute of Solid State Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

In addition, two individuals from Russia and the UAE associated with Vega Strategic Services and Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov have been added to the list of restrictions. Additionally, two cargo ships and one yacht are marked on the list.

As reported, the United States has been pursuing a consistent policy of imposing sanctions and other restrictions on Russia and its associated individuals and organizations because of the Kremlin's aggressive policies and the war it has waged against Ukraine.
