IAEA inspection conducted at Khmelnytskyi nuclear power plant

An inspection by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was successfully conducted at Khmelnytskyi NPP.

That's according to the press service of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

"From July 25 to 28, 2023, an inspection of the International Atomic Energy Agency was successfully carried out at the Khmelnytskyi NPP under the agreement between Ukraine and the IAEA in connection with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. The inspection was carried out by the Agency's inspectors with the participation of the SNRIU inspector," the statement said.

It is noted that the purpose of the inspections is to verify the absence of undeclared nuclear materials and information on the design of the nuclear facility, which was provided by Ukraine in accordance with the agreement. The inspection was carried out without any comments.

As reported, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission to support and assist in the safety and security of ionizing radiation sources has started working in Ukraine.
