PM: Enough funds on ground not to raise tariffs

In January-June of this year, the revenues of local budgets see an increase, so local funds are sufficient to finance utility companies and avoid raising tariffs for the population.

"We see a significant increase in the revenues of local budgets. In the first half of 2023, the general fund of local budgets received almost UAH 218 billion, which is UAH 42.5 billion more than last year. The balance of funds on the accounts of local budgets and budget institutions is already UAH 170 billion. That is, there are enough funds on the ground, in particular, to support their utility companies not to raise tariffs now," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said at the Cabinet’s meeting.

As reported earlier, Shmyhal insisted that there is no need to increase heat and water tariffs until the end of the war as this would place an additional burden on the population.
