Roderick van Schreven has become a special envoy for business and reconstruction of Ukraine. He succeeds Ron van Dartel, who left less than a month after taking office in April due to controversial statements in a book. Van Dartel said, among other things, that Ukrainians are also Russians.

Van Schreven previously worked for the United Nations and as a special envoy for cooperation between the Netherlands, Israel and the Palestinian territories.
