European Commission president proposes facility of up to EUR 50B for Ukraine

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen has proposed that a financial assistance package worth EUR 50 billion be allocated for Ukraine for the next four years in the form of loans and grants.

Ursula von der Leyen wrote this on her Twitter account, Ukrinform reports.

“We propose a facility for Ukraine for the next 4 years of up to €50 billion. To provide predictable finance to Ukraine on its EU path, together with global partners and private sector. On migration, we support external border protection and economic development of our partners with €15 billion,” she wrote.

As Ukrinform reported, Bloomberg, with reference to its sources, earlier reported that the European Union is ready to offer a EUR 50 billion financial aid package to support Ukraine.
