Ukraine’s Ministry of Infrastructure, EIB start selecting reconstruction projects

The Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine and the European Investment Bank have started to select projects for the reconstruction, recovery and capital repair of schools, kindergartens, administrative centers, housing and utility facilities, as well as projects on the provision of internally displaced persons with housing.

The ministry's press service announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

It is noted that the projects will be financed in line with the agreements between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank - under the Ukraine Recovery Program and Emergency Loan Program for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.

Local self-government bodies will be able to receive funding under the Ukraine Recovery Program.

Utilities and municipalities will be able to submit projects as part of the Emergency Loan Program for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.

The projects will be implemented in the regions affected by the Russian armed aggression and those that have experienced a load on the social infrastructure due to a significant number of internally displaced persons.

The project will be implemented from one to three years, depending on the program. Funds will be directed to communities in the form of a subvention from the state budget.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting on May 23, 2023 allocated a subvention worth over UAH 588 million from the state budget for the implementation of projects as part of the Emergency Loan Program for the Reconstruction of Ukraine from the European Investment Bank.
