Naftogaz stocking up on gas, preparing for challenging winter

NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine in preparing for the 2023/2024 heating season is updating the networks and equipment at heating generation enterprises, as well as accumulating gas reserves.

This was discussed at a meeting of the Anti-Crisis Energy Headquarters, the Naftogaz press service reports.

"One of the key tasks is to accumulate the necessary gas stocks. This year, we are primarily counting on our own Ukrainian output. We are also preparing our infrastructure in an intensified mode. Currently, the restoration of networks and energy facilities damaged by hostilities and shelling is underway. We are also preparing heating energy enterprises under the management of the Naftogaz Group according to a designated plan: we are updating networks and equipment where necessary," Naftogaz CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov said.

It is noted that during the meeting, Chernyshov presented the company's vision for the next heating season.

As reported, at the start of the autumn-winter period, gas stocks in Ukrainian storage facilities should amount to more than 14 billion cubic meters.

Over the past heating season, Russian invasion forces have been massively targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, launching barrages of missiles and drones across Ukraine’s regions.
