Shmyhal, Portuguese parliament head discuss recovery of Ukraine

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal at a meeting in Kyiv with the delegation of the Assembly of Portugal led by Parliament’s President Augusto Santos Silva discussed support for Ukraine and assistance in its recovery.

Shmyhal wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Our conversation was focused on the support for Ukraine and assistance in its recovery. I invited Portuguese business to invest in our country now, because the recovery of Ukraine will be the largest project since the Second World War. We hope for Portugal's support for Ukraine's European integration and Euro-Atlantic aspirations," Shmyhal wrote.

He thanked for the efforts made by the Assembly of Portugal to support Ukraine: financial, humanitarian, sanctions.

"We appreciate the prompt transfer of weapons, equipment, as well as the training of our military," Shmyhal stressed.

As reported by Ukrinform, on May 2, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the Assembly of the Republic of Portugal Augusto Santos Silva discussed the interaction between the countries on the path of Ukraine's integration into the European Union and expectations from the NATO summit in July, the needs of Ukrainian defenders and the peace formula.
