Restoration Agency, CDF launching project to improve logistics in Ukraine

The State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine (Restoration Agency) and The Conflict and Development Foundation (CDF) corporation signed a memorandum to launch the Modular Bridge project aimed at improving logistics on Ukraine's priority roads.

"This project is a powerful support for the urgent restoration of Ukraine's transport infrastructure by American partners. Modular structures are extremely versatile, reusable, and easy to assemble. For example, a team of 5-10 people is enough to set one crossing. Just as easily, a structure can be dismantled and rearranged at another location," said Mustafa Nayyem, Head of the Restoration Agency.

Within the framework of the project, CDF will finance the supply of nine modular bridges. The corporation will purchase the necessary bridge equipment from Acrow Corporation which specializes in the production of modular and temporary bridges for construction and emergency response.

They will be installed on the site of destroyed bridges and will help to establish logistics on priority roads in Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions.

CDF will also finance the training of Ukrainian specialists in the specifics of bridge installation from the manufacturing company. Acrow instructors have experience in building bridges in Afghanistan.

As reported, transportation infrastructure is a priority of the Recovery Agency in wartime along with critical infrastructure, social infrastructure, and housing. To date, the Agency has ensured the functioning of 85 temporary road crossings, three more are being installed.
