Ukrenergo: Electricity consumption drops significantly

As of 11:00 on March 27, electricity consumption is significantly lower compared to last Monday.

"Consumption is significantly lower compared to Monday last week due to significant warming and the end of the heating season in some regions. Switching to daylight saving time on Sunday night does not have a significant impact on the operation of the power system," the National Energy Company “Ukrenergo” posted on Facebook.

It is noted that all types of power plants operate. Electricity production is sufficient to meet consumption needs. The active operation of hydropower plants is maintained throughout the day and additionally increases, covering the peak hours of consumption in the power system. A slight import of electricity is also ongoing.

In Zhytomyr region, due to significant damage to the networks as a result of repeated Russian attacks, consumption restrictions are imposed.

"In other regions, there are no restrictions in Ukrenergo networks that would lead to the need to limit consumption. The difficult situation with electricity supply remains in the regions along the front line where the enemy is damaging the networks with constant artillery fire," the company added.

As reported, as of the morning of March 27, the energy system of Ukraine continues to operate with capacity reserves without restrictions on consumers.
