PM Shmyhal: EU’s tranche of macro-financial assistance already on National Bank’s accounts

EU-disbursed EUR 1.5 billion tranche of macro-financial assistance is already on the accounts of the National Bank of Ukraine.

"Yesterday, the European Union agreed to supply Ukraine with one million ammunition rounds. And today, the EU disbursed yet another tranche of macro-financial assistance totaling EUR 1.5 billion. The funds are already on the NBU accounts. In general, since the beginning of the year, EU’s financial assistance has already reached EUR 4.7 billion," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said at the Cabinet’s meeting on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to him, these funds will allow Ukraine to maintain macro-financial stability, pay social benefits, pensions, and fully finance the salaries of teachers and doctors.

The Head of Government earlier emphasized that the support of the European Union is very important for Ukraine, and the allocation of the latest tranche within the framework of macro-financial assistance confirms that Europe will stand with Ukraine till its victory.
