At captured nuclear plant, Russians mark equipment set to be looted

At the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, seized by Russian forces a year ago, the invaders are assessing possible withdrawal scenarios, marking the equipment that can be removed from the Ukrainian facility, which is Europe’s largest NPP.

This is reported by the Energodar Telegram channel, as seen by Ukrinform.

"The invaders put their special focus on NAEC Energoatom’s Center for Repair and Management Training, set up based on the ZNPP’s educational and training center. While inspecting its premises, the ruscists, who arrived at the ZNPP as ‘nuclear industry experts,’ compiled lists of equipment that ‘needs to be dismantled’ from the nuclear plant in the event of a retreat," the report says.

It is noted that the Training Center is a unique facility, where nuclear scientists from many countries acquire practical skills, using full-scale models of equipment and facilities, required for operations, including repair, at nuclear power plants. It was founded with Energoatom’s own funds (UAH 500 million) and those of the European Union (almost EUR 13 million).

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Russian troops captured the ZNPP on the night of March 4. The invaders deployed heir military equipment and ammunition on the NPP site. They have been shelling the facility and surrounding area, destroying power lines and causing external power outages. There are about 500 Russian invaders stationed at the ZNPP site at the moment.
