Zelensky: Ukraine will be ready to face any threat next heating season

In the next six months, Ukrainian energy engineers, government officials, the security and defense sector must take concrete steps to be ready to face any threat next heating season.

“We are working on all scenarios and will do everything to be ready to face any threat next winter. In six months, our energy sector, government officials, the security and defense sector, and all those involved in the implementation of the relevant tasks must do very specific things,” President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in his latest address on the evening of March 5.

In particular, the President noted, it is necessary to strengthen the protection of energy facilities, restore the infrastructure that has been destroyed by Russian strikes over the past six months, and give the Ukrainians more opportunities to generate and supply electricity on their private territory as part of the energy system decentralization project.

“This is a big undertaking, and it has already begun,” Zelensky stressed.

As reported, Energy Minister German Galushchenko called on international partners to create a common European stockpile of equipment for emergency repairs to be able to respond quickly in case of new Russia’s massive missile strikes.
