NSDC sanctions list includes 200 Russian nuclear industry enterprises

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has endorsed an initiative of the Security Service of Ukraine and enacted a decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) to impose economic sanctions on Russia’s Rosatom and 199 companies, which are part of this corporation.

The relevant statement was made by the Security Service of Ukraine on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Restrictive measures will be in effect for a period of 50 years and will apply to all the financial and economic operations of such companies.

According to the Security Service of Ukraine, Rosatom’s companies are involved in the so-called ‘alienation’ of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) for the benefit of the aggressor state.

In particular, the Security Service of Ukraine has evidence that the employees of Rosatom and its affiliated companies assumed control over technological and management processes at Zaporizhzhia NPP; contribute to connecting Zaporizhzhia NPP to Russia’s energy system; make attempts to legalize the operation of Zaporizhzhia NPP in the interests of Russia by establishing fake Russian companies, such as Zaporizhzhia NPP Operating Company JSC and Zaporizhzhia NPP Federal State Unitary Enterprise, which are part of Rosatom Corporation.

A reminder that Russian occupation troops seized Zaporizhzhia NPP in early March 2022.
