European Commission provides Ukraine with 2,400 additional generators

The European Commission invited Ukraine to the EU Energy Platform and provided 2,400 additional generators.

"We also support the Ukrainian power grid and make sure that electricity is supplied despite all the attacks. This is a very practical thing. Today I can say that we provide 2,400 additional generators apart from the previous 3,000 that have arrived since the beginning of the war," President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said at a joint press conference with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The official noted that Brussels invites Ukraine to its energy platform to purchase gas together. The EU is also working on mid-term and long-term energy prospects, European Commission President added.

As reported, a meeting of the members of the College of EU Commissioners, headed by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, with the Government of Ukraine will take place in Kyiv today. The meeting participants will discuss the support for Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression, the coordination of efforts to restore Ukraine, the continuation of key reforms, and Ukraine's future EU membership.

On February 3, the 24th EU-Ukraine Summit will be held in Kyiv.
