Almost 290,000 power generators imported into Ukraine since Nov

Legal entities have brought 269,500 power generators to Ukraine, while another 20,000 were imported by individuals since November 11.

That’s according to Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyrydenko, who spoke with Forbes Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

“Recently, the government has abolished customs duties to speed up the supply of generators and Starlink sets and to reduce the cost of this equipment for businesses. Since November 11, when this decision was made, 289,500 generators have been brought to Ukraine (269,500 – by legal entities, 20,000 – by natural persons). This is more than in the last five years combined," the government official said.

According to Svyrydenko, among gas stations of the largest networks, about 90% are already equipped with power generators, as well as 50-60% of network grocery stores.

As reported earlier, 86% of businesses install generators or other uninterruptible power sources to protect against outages. At the same time, only 1% of companies halted their operations amid blackouts.
