Almost half of Kyiv region will have no electricity in coming days - region’s administration

Works on eliminating the consequences of Russian missile attacks are underway in Kyiv region. NEC Ukrenergo power grid operator has introduced additional emergency shutdowns. Therefore, schedules of hourly power outages are currently not in effect in the region.

Oleksiy Kuleba, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

According to him, power engineers are working intensively so that Kyiv region can return to planned power outages as soon as possible.

However, Kuleba said that about half of the region would have no electricity in the coming days.

As reported, Russian missiles hit energy facilities in Kyiv, Vinnytsia and Odesa regions on December 5. Despite this, the country's power grid is functioning. In some regions, emergency shutdowns are in place in order to balance the system and avoid accidents.

Ukraine’s defense forces shot down over 60 out of more than 70 missiles fired by Russian forces.
