Ukraine, Slovakia extend agreement on increased gas imports

Ukraine’s Gas Transmission System Operator (TSO) and Slovakia’s operator Eustream a.s. have extended the validity period of the increased firm capacity for natural gas imports to Ukraine

The relevant statement was made by Ukraine’s Gas TSO on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

“Ukraine’s Gas TSO and Slovakia’s operator Eustream a.s. agreed to extend the validity period of the increased guaranteed capacity in the amount of 42 million cubic meters of natural gas at the Budince point [Slovakia] until March 31, 2023," the report says.

It is noted that such a step is positive for both Ukrainian and foreign companies, because after the launch of the Polish-Slovak gas interconnection at full capacity, there may be interest in the transportation of liquefied gas on the route Poland-Slovakia-Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrinform, in May, Ukraine’s Gas TSO and the Hungarian operator FGSZ have agreed to extend access to firm capacity for natural gas imports from Hungary to Ukraine until March 31, 2023.
