Government sets fixed electricity rates for another five months

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has set fixed electricity rates for household consumers for a period until the end of the heating season. The special service obligations imposed on market participants were extended.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Energy Ministry, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The reduced electricity rates for household consumers will remain in effect until at least March 31, 2023.

“Today, despite the war and massive attacks on energy infrastructure, a decision has been made to leave the rates unchanged for household consumers in order to prevent additional financial pressure on our citizens,” Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko noted.

Currently, electricity rates are as follows: UAH 1.44 per kilowatt-hour when consuming up to 250 kilowatt-hours per month; UAH 1.68 per kilowatt-hour when consuming over 250 kilowatt-hours per month.

The rate of UAH 1.68 per kilowatt-hour is also applied to dormitories, legal entities providing accommodation for internally-displaced persons, housing communities, garages and religious organizations.
