Ukraine withdraws from another CIS agreement

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has endorsed the draft bill on Ukraine’s withdrawal from the Convention on Multinational Corporations.

The relevant statement was made by Representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Taras Melnychuk on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The draft bill provides for Ukraine’s withdrawal from the Convention on Multinational Corporations in order to bring Ukraine’s legal and contractual framework into compliance with the current relations with the CIS member states and taking into account Ukraine’s current European integration policy,” Melnychuk wrote.

The Convention on Multinational Corporations was intended to develop production cooperation between the companies of the CIS member states and was signed for a period of transition to economic market relations.

At the moment, the Convention does not meet the current trade and economic relations between the countries, as well as Ukraine’s current European integration policy.
