Ukrainian grain exports on rise in Aug

In August, Ukraine exported 1.921 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops, bringing the total exports since the start of 2022/23 marketing year to 3.621 million tonnes.

That’s according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy referring to data provided by the State Customs Service, Ukrinform reports.

It is noted that in August 2021, some 4.601 million tonnes was shipped, which is part of 7.638 million tonnes of grain shipped since the previous marketing year-start.

Corn took up the largest share of exports in August at 1.167 million tonnes (1.334 million tonnes since season start), followed by wheat at 605,000 tonnes (981,000 tonnes since season start), barley at 140,000 tonnes (289,000), and rye at 500 tonnes (500 tonnes).

Export of flour this August amounted to 6,600 tonnes (10,700 tonnes since MY start), including wheat flour – at 5,900 tonnes (9,300 tonnes since MY start).
