Norway can take lead in rebuilding one of Ukraine’s regions affected by war – President’s Office

Norway can take a lead in rebuilding one the Ukrainian regions affected by the Russian aggression.

According to Ukrinform, Deputy Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko announced this on Telegram following his meeting with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Ukraine Erik Svedahl.

"Our goal is to do everything possible so that people can return to their homes as soon as possible. To do this, we must be reliable partners and create clear processes. Currently, together with the World Bank, work is underway to calculate the cost of rebuilding each of the facilities. In addition, it is planned to determine the sources of financing for restoration works," Tymoshenko said.

According to him, Norway, like any other partner country, can take a lead in rebuilding one of the regions affected by Russian aggression. For this, a Fast Recovery Plan has been developed for each region.

In turn, the ambassador emphasized that both countries are reliable partners. Norway provides both military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Svedahl also noted the importance of enhancing the implementation of bilateral projects and programs with the involvement of Ukrainian and Norwegian structures.
