Farmers harvest about 294,000 t of early grain and leguminous crops

Ukrainian agricultural enterprises have already threshed 293.8 thousand tonnes of early grain and leguminous crops.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Farmers have started to harvest early grain and leguminous crops in Odesa Region, Mykolaiv Region, Dnipropetrovsk Region and Zaporizhzhia Region. A total of 293.8 thousand tonnes of the new-harvest grain was threshed from 131.5 thousand hectares (1%) with the yielding capacity of 22.3 quintals per hectare,” the report states.

In particular, a total of 248.4 thousand tonnes of winter barley was gathered from 106 thousand hectares with the yielding capacity of 23.5 quintals per hectare; 39.4 thousand tonnes of winter wheat from 21.8 thousand hectares with the yielding capacity of 18.1 quintals per hectare; 1.95 thousand tonnes of peas from 3.8 thousand hectares with the yielding capacity of 5.2 quintals per hectare.

In addition, winter rapeseed harvesting operations started in Odesa Region. A total of 1.4 thousand tonnes of rapeseed was threshed from 1 thousand hectares.

A reminder that, according to the preliminary forecasts, Ukraine’s potential yield of grain will reach 48-50 million tonnes of grain crops this year.
