UK introduces 26 new sanctions against Russia

The Government of the United Kingdom has added 26 new designations to its list of sanctions against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.

The relevant statement was made by Reuters, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In particular, the updated sanctions list includes Colonel General Nikolay Bogdanovsky of the Russian army who holds the position of First Deputy Chief of the General Staff, manufacturer Military Industrial Company LLC, and industrial group Promtech-Dubna.

A reminder that, on April 13, 2022, the Government of the United Kingdom added 206 designations to its list of sanctions against Russia.

On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war. Russian troops are shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching missile and air strikes on Ukrainian cities and villages, torturing and murdering civilians.

The European Union and a number of other countries introduced sanctions against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine. Many companies suspended operations on the Russian market and left the projects implemented in cooperation with Russian partners.
