Galushchenko, Kwarteng discuss fuel supplies to Ukraine

Energy Minister of Ukraine German Galushchenko has stated that Ukraine is interested in diversifying fuel supplies, including from the United Kingdom.

Galushchenko made a corresponding statement during a conversation with UK’s Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Kwasi Kwarteng, Ukrinform informs with reference to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

"The Russian army is trying to destroy our fuel infrastructure, and Ukraine is interested in diversifying the fuel supply," said the Ukrainian minister, thanking his British counterpart for the willingness to promote cooperation in this area.

Galushchenko also informed Kwarteng about the work to assess the damage caused to energy infrastructure as a result of the aggression of the Russian Federation.

As reported, on March 18, a law came into force abolishing the excise tax on fuel and reducing the VAT rate from 20% to 7% for the period of martial law.
