Ukraine plans to perform first power export after synchronization with ENTSO-E

The first post-synchronization auction for the distribution of interstate connections for electricity exports to Poland is scheduled for March 28, after the merger of Ukraine's power system with ENTSO-E.

The actual delivery date is March 30, the crossing volume is 210 MW (per hour). All Ukrainian energy companies can take part in such auctions, the Energy Ministry's press service reports, according to Ukrinform.

"For the first time after synchronization with ENTSO-E, Ukraine will perform electricity export to Europe. The export volume is not large, but it is the first fruit of the integration of the Ukrainian and European energy markets. Of course, we have a lot of work ahead of us to implement the EU legislation, which is necessary for full integration of the markets," Herman Halushchenko notes.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on 27 February 2022, Continental Europe TSOs have received an urgent request from Ukrenergo, the Ukrainian TSO, for an emergency synchronization of the Ukrainian power system, including the Burshtyn island, with the Continental Europe power system.
