PM Shmyhal looks forward to productive dialogue with Canada on expanding FTA

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly, noting he looked forward to a productive dialogue with Canada on expanding the free trade agreement.

"Glad to welcome Foreign Minister of Canada Mélanie Joly in Kyiv. Grateful for such an important demonstration of support and openness towards strengthening Ukraine–Canada relations. We look forward to a productive dialogue on expanding the Free Trade Agreement," Shmyhal posted on Twitter on January 17.

Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly makes a visit to Ukraine on January 17-18 at the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.

The chief diplomats will hold talks on countering Russian aggression, consolidating further steps to deter Russia, and strengthening Ukraine's security sector.

The ministers will discuss topical issues of Ukraine–Canada cooperation, in particular in the trade, economic, educational, visa and migration areas.

On January 18, Kuleba and Joly will hold a joint press conference.
