Ukraine to start modernizing border checkpoints next year - Zelensky

In 2022, within the framework of the Big Construction Program, modernization will begin of international checkpoints on the Ukrainian borders.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky who addressed the "Big Construction: Roads and Bridges" Forum on Friday, December 24, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"As for the development of border infrastructure. Indeed, a lot has been done here, and in 2022 modernization of international checkpoints will begin under the said program," Zelensky said.

The president assured that a comfortable infrastructure will be created at the borders for Ukrainians, the country’s guests, and businesses.

"We will increase the capacity through the electronic queue, that is, modern infrastructure," Zelensky promised.

As reported, the Big Construction project was launched in the spring of 2020. The purpose of the program is to build quality social infrastructure (schools, kindergartens, hospitals, and sports facilities) and upgrade the motorway network.
