Tourist tax revenues in Mykolaiv region grew twofold

Over the 2021 tourist season, tourist tax revenues in Mykolaiv region grew twofold compared with last year - from UAH 2.8 million to UAH 5.42 million.

Tetiana Volynets, the head of the newly created Tourism and Resorts Department at the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, said this at a briefing on November 19, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“Tourist attractiveness of Mykolaiv region continues to grow, the dynamics of tourist tax revenues proves it. As of November 1, tourist tax revenues in Mykolaiv region reached UAH 5.42 million, whereas last year this figure was only UAH 2.81 million. Thus, we have an increase of UAH 2.6 million or 93%," Volynets said.

According to her, Mykolaiv region is now ahead even of neighboring Kherson region, which this year managed to collect only UAH 4.1 million of tourist tax. "And this is despite the fact that Kherson region has more enterprises in the tourism industry and a much longer length of seacoast than we have,” Volynets said.
