PM Shmyhal: Almost UAH 2B invested in Ukraine's oil and gas industry

According to preliminary estimates, at least UAH 1.9 billion will be invested in the oil and gas industry under two production sharing agreements within Hrunivska and Okhtyrska fields.

"Increase in domestic gas production. At the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers this week, the terms of two production sharing agreements within Hrunivska and Okhtyrska hydrocarbon fields were approved. According to preliminary estimates, at least UAH 1.9 billion will be invested in the oil and gas industry. In total, eight production sharing agreements have been signed over the past year, allowing to significantly increase gas production from next year," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal posted on Facebook, summing up the economic events of the previous week.

As reported, the Ministry of Energy expects more than 10 billion UAH in investment to be attracted for the first five years of implementation of production sharing agreements in the extractive sector.

At the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021, production sharing agreements were signed for eight fields in Ukraine with five companies (for the first time over the past nine years). In particular, four fields were handed over to JSC Ukrgazvydobuvannia.
