Ukravtogaz sold over 25 mcm of compressed natural gas in Jan-Sept 2021

The network of Ukravtogaz, a subsidiary of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, sold 25.3 million cubic meters of compressed natural gas (CNG) in January-September 2021, which is 2.5% less than in the same period last year, Ukrinform reports, referring to the company’s press service.

"CNG sales over the nine months of 2021 came to 25.3 million cubic meters, which is 632 thousand cubic meters or 2.5% less compared to the same period in 2020,” the report says.

In September, CNG sales amounted to 2.96 million cubic meters, which is 411 thousand cubic meters or 13.9% less compared to the same period last year.

The main factor that influenced the decrease in CNG sales is the increase in gas prices on European exchanges and, as a result, in Ukraine, the company said. This led to an increase in the retail cost of CNG at filling stations.

As reported, from October 14, the CNG price within the Ukravtogaz network grew to UAH 41.88 per cubic meter. On October 1, the CNG price was set at UAH 37.68 per cubic meter.
