NBU keeps main interest rate unchanged

The National Bank of Ukraine has decided to leave its main interest rate unchanged at 8.5%.

NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko said this at a briefing on Thursday, October 21, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The NBU Board has decided to keep the main interest rate unchanged at 8.5%," he said.

The central bank in September raised its main interest rate to 8.5%.

The key interest rate was kept at 6% between June 2020 and March 2021. Then it was gradually raised to 8%.
