Land market is developing, but needs further support - Minister Leshchenko

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food and the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre have signed a tripartite Memorandum of Cooperation with the National Agency on Corruption Prevention.

Ukrinform reports with a reference to the ministry’s press service.

"We have recently summed up 100 days since the launch of the land market. The main conclusion is that the land market is developing, but needs further support. Our key goal is to minimize corruption risks in the field of land relations. Therefore, together with the NACP and StateGeoCadastre, we have consolidated our efforts to transparently and legislatively promote land reform,” said Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Roman Leshchenko, emphasizing that the land market needs anti-corruption support.

According to the minister, the participants of the Memorandum will analyze the regulations in the field of land relations and if necessary, develop amendments to eliminate factors that cause corruption.

“An important part of the Memorandum is an Action Plan to minimize corruption risks in the activities of StateGeoCadastre. This is the clear plan, which sets out specific tasks and dates for their implementation, in particular, to improve the quality of the State Land Cadastre," he said.
