Almost 73,500 ha of agricultural land sold in Ukraine since market opened

As of October 13, Ukraine registered 29,493 agreements on the purchase and sale of agricultural land, Ukrinform reports.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, 5,129 notaries submitted applications for access to the State Land Cadastre. The total number of applications is 5,759. Of these, 5,094 applications were approved, whereas 662 were rejected.

Between July 1 and October 13, 73,447 hectares of agricultural land were sold in Ukraine. The largest areas of farmland were sold in Kirovohrad region (10,150.3 ha), Kharkiv region (9,520.2 ha) and Poltava region (6,578.7 ha).

As reported, Ukraine officially launched the land market on July 1. Until 2024, only Ukrainian citizens will be able to buy agricultural land - up to 100 hectares per person. The issue of selling land to people without Ukrainian citizenship will be decided only in a nationwide referendum.
