Average salary in Ukraine grows by 22%

In August 2021, the average nominal salary in Ukraine amounted to UAH 13,997, which is 22.3% higher compared with August 2020, according to the State Statistics Service.

The average nominal salary of a full-time employee of enterprises, institutions and organizations in August 2021 was UAH 13,997, which is 2.3 times higher than the minimum wage (UAH 6,000). Compared to July 2021, the average nominal salary decreased by 2.4%, and grew by 22.3% over the last 12 months (compared to August 2020).

The highest average nominal salaries in August 2021 were recorded in the information and telecommunications sector - UAH 24,813 (up 25.1% from August 2020), in the financial and insurance sector – UAH 23,537 (up 19.5%), in the public administration and defense, and compulsory social insurance - UAH 21,207 (up 26.2%).

The lowest average nominal salaries in August 2021 were recorded in the temporary accommodation and catering sector - UAH 9,788 (up 57.3% from August 2020), in the education sector - UAH 10,473 (up 27.4%); in the healthcare and social assistance sector - UAH 10,898 (up 28.4%).

As reported, according to the State Statistics Service, the average nominal salary in Ukraine in August 2020 was UAH 11,446, which is up 8.6% from August 2019.
