Passenger traffic at Boryspil Airport grows 66% this year

In January-August 2021, Boryspil International Airport served 5,816,254 passengers, which is 66% more than in the same period of 2020, Ukrinform reports, referring to the airports’ Facebook page.

In particular, over the first eight months of this year, Boryspil Airport provided air service to 3,339,622 passengers travelling by regular flights and 2,476,632 travelling by charter flights.

In August 2021, Boryspil Airport serviced 1,251,316 passengers, including 827,556 passengers carried by regular flights and 423,760 passengers carried by charter flights.

The most popular international destinations among passengers were Turkey, Egypt and Greece. Thus, the total share of travelers on flights to these countries amounted to 46% of the total number of passengers. At the same time, most passengers were travelling to the following destinations: Antalya, Sharm el-Sheikh, Istanbul, Hurghada, Dalaman, Tivat, Amsterdam, Bodrum, Tel Aviv and Heraklion.

As Ukrinform reported, Boryspil International Airport ranked fifth among the top 10 airports in Eastern Europe.
