Ukrzaliznytsia carries over 9M passengers during summer

JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukrainian railways, carried 9.1 million passengers in June-August 2021, which is 130% of the figures recorded last summer and 70% of those figures in the summer of 2019.

It is noted that 7.4 million passengers were transported in night trains, 1.1 million passengers were carried in Intercity+ high-speed trains, and another 0.6 million passengers in regional trains.

In the summer months, in addition to 104 pairs of passenger trains running year-round, 25 more pairs were added, which were running to the most popular tourist and resort destinations.

As Ukrinform reported, Ukrzaliznytsia carried 9.5 million passengers in long-distance trains in the first half of 2021.
