Ukraine’s gas imports amounted to 22.3 mcm per day as of Sept 1 – UEEX

As of September 1, Ukraine’s gas imports amounted to 22.3 million cubic meters (mcm) per day, Ukrinform reports with reference to the review of the natural gas market for August 30 - September 3, published on the website of the Ukrainian Energy Exchange (UEEX).

Imports of natural gas from the European direction came mainly from Hungary. The volume of domestic production came to an average of 54.46 million cubic meters of natural gas per day. Last week an increase in natural gas consumption was recorded, up to 45.41 million cubic meters as of September 1.

As of September 2, 2021, Ukraine had 18.22 billion cubic meters of natural gas in its underground gas storage facilities, which is 0.2 billion cubic meters more than at the end of the previous week. There was almost no gas extraction from underground storage facilities last week.

As reported, Ukrtransgaz expects that more than 19 billion cubic meters of natural gas will be pumped into Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities before the heating season starts.
