Average salary in Ukraine grows by almost 24%

The average nominal salary of Ukrainians in June 2021 was 23.6% higher than the one they received in June 2020 and amounted to UAH 14,313, the State Statistics Service has reported.

The average nominal salary of a full-time employee of enterprises, institutions and organizations in June 2021 was UAH 14,313, or 2.4 times higher than the level of the minimum wage (UAH 6,000). Compared to May 2021, the average nominal salary grew by 6%.

The highest average nominal salary in June 2021 was recorded in the field of information and telecommunications - UAH 26,197 (38.4% higher than in June 2020). In second place was the sphere of financial and insurance activities (UAH 22,691, an increase of 17.4%), and in third place was the sphere of public administration and defence, compulsory social insurance (UAH 19,868, an increase of 21.3%).

The lowest average nominal salary in June 2021 was registered in the areas of temporary accommodation and catering (UAH 8,922, 71.3% higher than in June 2020), administrative and support services (UAH 11,034, an increase of 17%), and real estate transactions (UAH 11,208, an increase of 27.6%).

According to the State Statistics Service, the average nominal salary in June 2020 amounted to UAH 11,579 in Ukraine, which was 7.4% more than in June 2019.
